SR. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (power plant) Jobs in Abū Nakḥlah at ACT

Major function: Responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems and equipment, this includes scheduled overhaul project planning and execution, as well as providing guidance and support for plant maintenance programs using predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.

  • · Update and archive electrical prints, PLC programs, and operator interface software.
  • · Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation maintenance issues with appropriate documentation.
  • · Coordinate the installation of electrical equipment by contractors and plant personnel to meet scheduled completion dates.
  • · Managing contractors effectively to ensure planned maintenance is completed and recorded correctly
  • · Collaborate with other functional groups, contractors, and other external parties to ensure safe and efficient implementation of preventive/corrective maintenance work orders, job orders, semi-annual/annual preventive maintenance activities, and minor/major overhauling works.
  • · Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, substations and control systems.
  • · Perform fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical, PLC, SCADA, and Mark VI control systems.
  • · Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, including IEE Wiring Regulations and OSHA requirements
  • · Implement and maintain safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment.
  • · Provide technical guidance to instrument and electrical technicians.
  • · Assist in the installation and commissioning of electrical control equipment as needed.
  • · Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • · Prepare reports on maintenance activities, including downtime and repairs.
  • · Provide assistance to Maintenance on related projects.
  • · Replacement of obsolete technology for which replacement parts are difficult or impossible to obtain, Modifications to existing controls for improved process control, reliability, safety and compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • · Identify opportunities for improving electrical and mechanical safety of equipment.
  • · Modify existing controls if required for improved process control, reliability, and safety.
  • · Provide input on root cause and failure analysis and investigations of plant-related incidents.
  • · Provide maintenance support during plant emergencies beyond work hours.
  • · Perform other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Pay: Up to QAR18,000.00 per month
