Position: SR. DATA ARCHITECT

Primary Purpose of the Job
Design data architecture and lead platform implementation, considering scalability, security, and integration with existing systems. Lead the implementation and overall optimization of data flow activities. Capture Qatar Energy Enterprise data model with conceptual, logical, and physical models.
Accountabilities
Define and implement the data & digital platform architecture and services.
Create and update Qatar Energy enterprise data models and data architecture (across entities).
Design data pipelines and ensure their optimization.
Participate in Architecture review committees impacting IT technical strategy (including applications, Digital Data Platform, and Digital Use cases).
Build relationships with Business Focal Points, Data Owners, Data Stewards, application Subject Matter Experts, Digital Project Group, and key IT vendors.
Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions to enhance Qatar Energy’s data architecture and analytics.
Required Experience and Skills
10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas, understanding Upstream and Downstream Data requirements.
5 years of proven experience designing and implementing data models for enterprise data warehouse initiatives within Oil and Gas.
8 years of experience in Project Management.
Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and C/C++.
Proficiency in data science tools/languages such as SQL, R, SAS, or Excel.
Experience with modern data architectures including cloud services (Azure, GCP), real-time data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow), and data warehouse tools (Snowflake, Databricks).
Knowledge of Database systems, BI Technologies, Applications Architecture, and Information Security Principles.
Understanding of entity-relationship modeling, metadata systems, and data quality tools.
Ability to develop strategic partnerships with top data service providers.
Excellent communication skills across organizational levels and with diverse project teams.
Educational Qualifications
A degree in Information Management, Engineering, or a related technology field demonstrating analytical and quantitative skills.
Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) in Data Science, Computer Science, Oil & Gas, Energy Management, or Petroleum Engineering are highly desirable.
