Position: SR. COUNSEL (LITIGATION & INVESTIGATION)
Provide advice in handling litigation cases including representing Qatar Energy, Qatar Energy’s subsidiaries, and Qatar Energy’s affiliates before courts, public prosecution, judicial committees, and disputes resolution tribunals, to protect Qatar Energy’s legal interests. Provide the management with the necessary assessment in pre-litigation matters. Provide support services as specified in LCL Division Internal Policy or assigned by the General Counsel (LC), Associate General Counsel (LCL), Head Counsel (Litigation and Investigation) in accordance with Qatar Energy’s policies, procedures, applicable Qatari laws, and regulations, to the best interest of Qatar Energy.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Law (LLB) or equivalent from a recognized university, preferably a master’s degree of law.
Eligible to practice law in Qatar or any similar jurisdiction.
Native Arabic speaker with excellent command of spoken and written English.
Excellent legal drafting, writing, researching, and analyzing skills.
At least 10 years of legal experience including admittance to the bar in Qatar or experience with Qatari courts/court submissions in addition to the practice areas in the Principal Accountabilities listed above.
Must be familiar with Qatari laws or any similar jurisdiction.
Experience in the Oil and Gas industry will be highly advantageous.
Effective communicationskills.
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Word.
Experience of dealing with regulators and government representatives.
Ability to assimilate complex legal matters and to provide practical advice to non-lawyers.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player with members of the legal Department, as well as other stakeholders.
Highly motivated, proactive, organized, and self-disciplined.
