Position: SR. CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for supervising Contractor’s construction activities under the EPIC lump sum contract and overseeing construction works in the Off-Plot BOG and MIC Areas of the New NGL plant, a major capital project  role ensures compliance with the approved scope, design, QHSE requirements, and execution schedule, leading to timely project completion, commissioning, and handover in accordance with project standards.
Principal Accountabilities:
Supervise, control, verify, and assure all multi-discipline site construction activities in the BOG and MIC areas for the NGL-5 project.
Lead a team of discipline Construction Supervisors, providing guidance and advice on constructability.
Control and supervise site construction/installation, including workshop prefabrication, in line with approved drawings, specifications, and the Execution Plan.
Participate in design reviews to provide input on constructability and construction safety during early planning phases.
Ensure regular review of project schedules by construction teams and develop effective claims mitigation plans.
Assist in mobilization and demobilization of personnel, equipment, and logistics involving Contractors, Sub-contractors, and Vendors.
Implement plans to verify construction works and materials according to Work Plans and Inspection Test Plans.
Contribute to risk assessment workshops and ensure active risk management.
Inspect and monitor contractors’ site work to ensure compliance, reporting variances as needed.
Coordinate with relevant parties to resolve site issues and raise technical queries for modifications.
Lead safety efforts during construction activities, especially in live plants, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Ensure permits to work are in place to facilitate safe and timely construction.
Manage simultaneous operations and construction in live plants by understanding end-user constraints to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
Coordinate pre-commissioning activities, assist in commissioning, and ensure timely clearance of Punch List items.
Support Qatari development by ensuring proper training and development of Qatari Nationals to maximize their contribution to project success.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/
Experience:
Degree in Engineering or relevant Diploma from a recognized university, with extensive construction management experience. Additional HSE qualifications like IOSH or NEBOSH are advantageous.
Minimum of 12 years in construction/installation, with at least 10 years in the oil & gas industry, preferably LNG/NGL/Refinery projects. At least 5 years in brownfield construction.
Experience supervising major lump-sum projects in a Construction Supervisor role, preferably with an IOC/NOC.
Strong knowledge of construction and QHSE standards and methodologies.
Ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection/test plans, lifting/erection plans, schedules, and drawings.
Proactive in identifying potential bottlenecks and proposing solutions.
Excellent communication, presentation, and report writing skills in English.
Demonstrated team-building and relationship management skills.
