Specification Engineer

1. Technical & Specification Support and Clients Interface

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Prepare, review, and influence project specifications to include Saint Gobain Solutions and systems and ensure compliance with consultant technical comments throughout project phases.
• Provide technical presentations, lunch & learns, CPD sessions, and workshops to promote solutions.
• Translate complex technical requirements into tailored solutions for project needs to support commercial team.
• Develop tailored technical documents and CSI that meet project specification and design requirements.

2. Projects & Market Development

• Develop project pipeline and track upcoming and ongoing projects to tackle projects and identify opportunities at early design phase.
• Create leads and collaborate with commercial teams to ensure early engagement with project decision-makers.
• Support tendering by providing correct technical data sheets, method statements, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor and awareness of competitor`s specifications and proactively counter through value-engineering proposals.

3. Technical Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare and update technical and sustainability documents to ensure compliance with project specification.
• Ensure complying with CRS and rectify any relevant technical, sustainability comments
• Develop CSI with standard specification clauses and system guides for consultants.
• Ensure Saint Gobain product systems are registered in consultant and government vendor lists.
• Coordinate with R&D and product management teams to update product technical documents,

certifications, and test reports that meet latest international and local standards and new technical trends.

4. Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Keep up to date with the latest construction trends, codes, and sustainable building practices (LEED, BREEAM, Estidama, etc.).
• Ensure specifications compliance with latest local and international standards (ASTM, BS, EN, SASO, etc.).
• Conduct internal training sessions for sales and application teams on specification requirements whenever required.

Is this job for you?

• Education:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Architecture or a related field.

• Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or specification within the construction industry, preferably with

construction chemicals and/or Gypsum products.

• Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of construction industry standards, terminology, and technology. Proficiency in MS Office.

Proficiency in CRM.

• Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Arabic & English.

• Interpersonal Skills:

Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

• Mobility:

Willingness to travel and relocate if necessary.

• Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in construction chemicals, or building materials.

Ability to provide technical presentations and engage with consultants and engineering professionals.

Proficiency in drawings / AutoCAD.

• Work Conditions:

Travel within the country as required.

Flexible working hours based on needs.
