Job description
Job Purpose:
Specialists at the department of internal medicine may evaluate, diagnose, consult, as take history and physical exam and provide non-surgical care to patients presenting with general illnesses. They must be qualified in handling necessary equipment for both diagnosis and treatment related to their practice and department. They perform rounds and see in-patients and manage their treatment and care and they are also responsible for outpatient clinic duty according to departmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Admit, evaluate, diagnose, consult and treat adult patients above 14 years of age for general medical problems
Must admit under a consultant name, perform history and physical workup, diagnose, perform bedside testing, provide non-surgical treatment, including consultation for patients admitted or in need of care to treat general medical problem
Supervising and providing schematic care to patients in hospital wards as well as in and out-patient clinics
Admitting the patients needing investigations, special care and treatment.
Making detailed notes as a legal documentation for treatment beneficial to other health care providers and professionals.
Liaising with other non-medical and medical faculty in the hospital to guarantee high-quality treatment
Teaching Medical students and junior doctors, researching and auditing
Requirements:
Education: Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Certification: Board-certified in Internal Medicine or equivalent recognized by the DOH.
Licensure: Valid Home country license and (DOH/DHA/MOH) to practice as a Specialist Internal Medicine in the UAE.
Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in Internal Medicine
