Job Description
JOBPURPOSE:
The role holder is responsible for ensuring participation in CBG Channels Control reviews and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, compliance, and control processes within the branches and alternative channels.
Support branches and alternative channels in securing positive GIA ratings/reports and outcomes.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
:
Perform and supervise CBG Channels Control reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant external regulatory/statutory requirements.
Conduct Theme and Clear Desk Policy reviews as required.
Ensure adequate coverage during CBG Channels Control reviews.
Provide advice, guidance, and support to lessexperienced teammembers and review their working papers to ensure proper coverage. Provide honest and constructive feedback.
Communicate non-compliance issues with relevant units management to avoid disagreement.
Complete assigned reviews accurately, professionally, and within allocated time.
Review and prepare CBG Channels Control review reports in a timely manner.
Follow up and coordinate with relevant units management on target dates and comments to ensure effective remedial action.
Identify and recommend improvements to processes and procedures for effective and efficient controls.
Learn about new products, procedures, and services as they are launched and share knowledge with team members.
Assist in the preparation of a monthly summarized and consolidated Spot Check reviews report of CBG Channels Control for forwarding to management for necessary action.
Assist in the preparation of a monthly dashboard highlighting activities of the previous month, key issues raised in CBG Channels Control reviews, and status of GIA and CBG Channels Control target date comments.
Assist in preparing an internal dashboard and action plan prior to Business Governance team meetings.
Coordinate implementation, update, and continuous use of ORM tools. Spread awareness of ORM in general and ORM tools.
Perform any other ad-hoc assignments requested by VP, CBG Channels Control, and SVP, Head of Business Governance.
People Management:
Act as a role model to direct and indirect reports to drive adherence to FAB’s values and support talent development within the team.
Collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure seamless assignment delivery.
Assist in conducting periodic capacity planning based on changes in business volume and evaluate resource requirements.
Strategic Contribution:
Support implementation of CBG BSC in relation to Group’s Audit mandate to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies.
