Job Description

Job Overview:

The Senior Resident Engineer (RE) will be responsible for overseeing the design and construction supervision of the Enhancement of Public Parks project in Al Ain, UAE. The role requires effective coordination between the client, contractors, and relevant stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the project within the defined scope, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

& Coordination:  Serve as the primary representative of the company, ensuring smooth coordination between the client, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders. Ensure

effective communication

with the client and maintain proper documentation of all project-related correspondences. Attend and lead coordination and progress meetings with the client, contractors, and other agencies as required. Identify and resolve coordination challenges, ensuring seamless project execution.  

Supervision & Compliance:  Oversee the mobilization and execution of the project, ensuring adherence to contract requirements, design specifications, and quality standards. Ensure that site inspections, approvals, and testing comply with contractual and regulatory requirements. Monitor the progress of works on-site and provide technical guidance to the supervision team. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and industry best practices.  

Staff Management & Performance Monitoring:  Interview, propose, and manage supervision staff in alignment with client requirements. Evaluate and enhance staff performance, ensuring effective deployment of resources. Review and process contractor payments, variations, claims, and contractual disputes in coordination with the client and quantity surveyors. Provide expert advice on contractual and construction matters, ensuring fair and justified resolutions. Oversee the implementation of project procedures and contractual obligations on-site.  

Reporting & Documentation:  Prepare and review project progress reports, ensuring timely submission to the client. Maintain comprehensive records of project activities, including progress tracking, contractual correspondences, and financial documentation. Provide strategic advice on risk mitigation,

quality assurance

, and process improvements.  

Job Requirements

 Site Presence & Travel Requirements:  The Resident Engineer must be present on-site as per the approved attendance schedule to oversee project activities, ensure compliance, and facilitate effective coordination with the client and contractors. Site visits and inspections will be required based on the project’s needs, progress levels, and critical activities.  Qualifications &

Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering / Architect or a related discipline. Minimum 20 years of experience in construction supervision and

project management

, with a strong background in public parks, infrastructure, and urban development projects. Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), PMP or equivalent certification from a recognized authority is desirable. Strong expertise in contract administration (FIDIC preferred),

, and project delivery methodologies.
