Job Summary
Tractebel has been appointed as the Owner’s Engineer for the Al Khushaybi Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Independent Power Project (IPP) in the Al Qassim Region, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project is being developed by ENGIE and its consortium partners under the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC) Battery Energy Storage Program. The Al Khushaybi BESS facility has a capacity of 500 MW with 4 hours of storage duration(2,000MWh).
As Owner’s Engineer, Tractebel is responsible for providing independent technical oversight and assurance throughout the project lifecycle, including design review, engineering management, technology assessment, construction supervision, testing and commissioning support, and verification of compliance with contractual, regulatory, and international technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and surveillance activities in accordance with approved ITPs
- Attend and document Hold & Witness points
- Conduct daily and spot quality inspections on site works
- Raise observations and NCRs where non-conformities are identified
- Verify corrective actions before closure
- Ensure inspection records are uploaded and traceable in Procore
- Report findings to Site Quality Manager
. Education
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Good to have Substation & utility BESS related Experience in KSA preferred
- Must have Utility Scale BESS experience
Preferred
☑Relevant professional certification related to the role/discipline
☑Professional membership or accreditation, where applicable
☑ Experience with BESS project is preferable
