Job Summary:
A Piling Shovel Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery, such as piling shovels, excavators, and related equipment, to drive and install piles for construction projects. The operator ensures precise and safe placement of piles, follows site plans, and adheres to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate piling shovels and other heavy machinery to drive piles into the ground.
Read and interpret construction blueprints and site plans.
Position and align piles using hydraulic and mechanical controls.
Ensure machinery is maintained and in proper working condition.
Conduct pre-operation inspections and perform basic equipment maintenance.
Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Communicate effectively with site supervisors, engineers, and other construction personnel.
Monitor ground conditions and adjust operations accordingly.
Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major defects to maintenance teams.
Keep records of daily operations and log machinery usage.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a piling shovel operator or similar heavy equipment operator role.
Valid heavy equipment operator certification or license (as required by local regulations).
Strong understanding of safety procedures and construction site protocols.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Physical fitness and ability to work in challenging environments.
Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
Work Environment:
Outdoor construction sites with varying weather conditions.
Exposure to loud noises, dust, and heavy machinery.
Requires physical endurance, standing for long periods, and lifting heavy materials.
