Overview of the role
To oversee and support the desk to assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
What you will do
Follow SOPs related to cash handling, receiving payments by cash, cheque, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
Compute and record transactions with 100% accuracy.
Count and record the float before trading begins and after trading ends, ensuring accurate cash handling and safe custody.
Greet and welcome customers at the store, ensuring shopping tools and catalogues are available, and providing bags or trollies as needed.
Attend to customers efficiently to minimize queues and respond to their needs.
Ensure that customers at the Returns & Exchange desk perceive the policy as generous and the process as quick and easy.
Handle routine customer complaints promptly and courteously to maximize satisfaction.
Greet and explain the Smaland admission policy to children’s guardians in a friendly manner.
Prioritize child safety in Smaland, providing a secure environment for children.
Make announcements or pages for parents regarding children or general updates.
Adhere to all system procedures as per policy.
Book IKEA services (Home Delivery, Assembly, Measurement) and follow up on out-of-stock items.
Handle returns and exchanges judiciously, using authority granted by management to retain customers.
Use returns and exchange data to identify product faults, safety issues, or transportation problems.
Brief the Duty Manager on complaints requiring management intervention.
Prepare reports on transactions, sales trends, profitability, and store performance for reconciliation and analysis.
Required skills to be successful
Proactivity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Good command of English
Arabic language skills are preferred
