Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or a Diploma with relevant experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in logistics, transport operations, or warehouse management within heavy industries such as aluminum smelting, oil & gas, steel, or manufacturing, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP (MM Module) for inventory management, reporting, and operational tracking.
- Strong understanding of logistics operations, including transportation planning, fleet coordination, material handling, and inventory control.
- Sound knowledge of HSE regulations, incident reporting, and safe working practices within industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor shipment expediting activities following PO release and coordinate with freight forwarders and suppliers to ensure timely cargo readiness and collection.
- Track shipment movements through freight forwarder systems and ensure timely delivery of materials to Qatalum warehouse and operational facilities.
- Evaluate and coordinate the most suitable mode of transportation (air, sea, or land) based on operational urgency, freight costs, and delivery requirements.
- Monitor zero-stock and critical material reports to ensure timely replenishment and material availability for end users.
- Verify that all transport arrangements, shipping documentation, customs declarations, and supplier invoices comply with applicable international laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Process and maintain shipment documentation, customs records, and related transactions within SAP and other Qatalum systems, as applicable.
- Manage export documentation, repair and return shipments, and associated customs formalities in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all shipments are executed in compliance with Qatalum HSE standards, IATA regulations, and other applicable transport safety requirements, particularly for hazardous materials.
- Coordinate domestic transportation and local material deliveries to Qatalum facilities in accordance with operational requirements.
- Review, verify, and coordinate approval of freight invoices in accordance with contractual terms and agreed rates.
- Report shipment delays, operational deviations, or supply risks in a timely manner and propose mitigation measures to minimize operational impact.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by the Company to support the efficient and effective execution of shipping and logistics operations.
Pay: QAR4,500.00 per month
