Senior/ Team Lead Accountant Jobs in Abu Dhabi at CAT International
We are looking for the Senior/Team Lead Accountant having experience MUST in OIL & GAS industry to lead the accounting team and oversee financial operations. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with applicable accounting standards, effective cost control, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership capabilities, technical accounting expertise, and hands-on experience with upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports prepared by team members.
- Monitor project costs, operating expenses, capital expenditures (CAPEX), and operating expenditures (OPEX).
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT/GST requirements, statutory reporting, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.
- Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate governance policies.
- Prepare management reports, financial analyses, and KPI dashboards for senior management.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, supply chain, HR, and project teams to support business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, joint venture, and project accounting requirements where applicable.
- Drive continuous process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
- Support ERP implementation, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 8–12 years of accounting experience, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Proven experience in the Oil & Gas industry is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar accounting software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Pay: AED12,000.00 – AED14,000.00 per hour
