Senior System Engineer (Backup)- Kuwait Jobs in Al Kuwait, Kuwait at Diyar United Company
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Implementation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting enterprise Backup Solutions across complex IT environments. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in Commvault Backup Solution (Mandatory Requirement), along with good experience in Veeam Backup & Replication and Dell Technologies Backup Solutions including Dell Data Domain, Dell Networker, Dell Avamar, PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), and Cyber Recovery solutions.
Commvault implementation experience is mandatory for this role and candidates without proven Commvault deployment experience and certification will not be considered.
The candidate must possess relevant vendor certifications and proven experience in enterprise backup architecture, disaster recovery planning, storage integration, cyber recovery, and data protection best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise backup and recovery solutions with primary focus on Commvault
- Install, configure, and optimize Commvault infrastructure including:
- CommServe
- Media Agents
- Client Agents
- Storage Policies
- Deduplication
- Disaster Recovery configuration
- Archiving files, emails
- Backup Cloud solution
- Support and manage:
- Veeam Backup & Replication
- Dell EMC Backup Solutions (Data Domain, Networker, Avamar, PPDM, Cyber Recovery)
- Configure backup policies, retention policies, replication, and archive strategies
- Implement backup solutions for:
- Physical Servers
- Virtual Environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Exchange)
- NAS / SAN Storage
- Cloud workloads (Azure, AWS)
- Kubernetes / Container platforms
- Perform backup health checks, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Plan and execute Disaster Recovery (DR), Cyber Recovery, and Business Continuity strategies
- Implement immutable backup, ransomware protection, and air-gap solutions
- Support backup migration projects from legacy platforms to modern backup solutions
- Perform backup restore testing and disaster recovery validation
- Integrate backup platforms with enterprise storage systems
- Prepare implementation documents, SOPs, HLD/LLD, and operational handover documents
- Provide L2/L3 technical support and technical leadership during projects
- Coordinate with vendors, customers, and project teams during implementation and support phases
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in enterprise backup implementation and administration
- Minimum 4+ years of strong hands-on experience specifically with Commvault (Mandatory)
- Strong hands-on experience with Veeam and Dell Backup Solutions is highly preferred
- Proven experience in large-scale backup deployment and migration projects
- Strong understanding of backup architecture, DR, HA, cyber recovery, and data protection frameworks
