Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to lead the structural design and delivery of a wide range of building and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, proven project leadership skills, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary coordination from concept through construction.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing structural engineering teams, ensuring high-quality design deliverables, coordinating with clients and other disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers while maintaining compliance with local and international design standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural engineering design and delivery of multiple projects simultaneously from concept design through construction supervision.
  • Develop structural design concepts and prepare detailed structural calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings.
  • Perform and review structural analysis and design using industry-standard software.
  • Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and technical deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate closely with Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil, Façade, AV/IT, and other specialist consultants.
  • Attend client meetings, design workshops, authority meetings, and site coordination meetings.
  • Review and approve structural drawings, BIM models, shop drawings, and technical submissions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to structural engineers, BIM modelers, and drafting teams.
  • Conduct design reviews and value engineering exercises to optimize structural solutions.
  • Resolve complex engineering challenges during design and construction phases.
  • Review contractor RFIs, material submittals, method statements, and structural calculations.
  • Support business development activities, including technical proposals, fee estimates, and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE authority requirements and international design codes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical, façade, temporary works, and specialist consultants where required.
  • Participate in construction site visits, inspections, and structural assessments.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced structural analysis and design.
  • Reinforced concrete, structural steel, composite, masonry, and precast design.
  • High-rise, commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
  • Foundation design and coordination with geotechnical engineers.
  • Seismic and wind design.
  • Structural rehabilitation and strengthening.
  • Value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • BIM coordination and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Software Requirements

  • ETABS
  • SAFE
  • SAP2000
  • CSI Column
  • RAM Concept (preferred)
  • AutoCAD
  • Revit Structure
  • Navisworks
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of STAAD Pro or Robot Structural Analysis is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng), PE, MIStructE, or equivalent professional registration is highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of structural engineering experience within engineering consultancy.
  • Minimum 5 years leading multidisciplinary building projects.
  • Proven experience delivering projects in the UAE or GCC.
  • Experience managing structural teams and coordinating with international consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of local authority requirements including Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, DEWA, ADCD, and other UAE authorities.
