Job Purpose
The Senior Specialist, Planning and Scheduling – Technology & Innovation will oversee and manage planning and scheduling activities for Technology & Innovation initiatives by developing detailed plans, establishing baselines, tracking progress, and ensuring alignment with the Integrated Master Plan (IMP). The role ensures that initiative schedules are realistic, technically sound, and integrated across portfolios to support effective execution tracking and informed management decision-making.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain detailed plans and schedules for T&I initiatives in line with approved scope and the Integrated Master Plan (IMP).
- Establish baseline milestone dates, phase gates, and key deliverables in coordination with initiative owners and domain teams.
- Monitor progress against approved schedules and identify variances, risks, and potential delays.
- Prepare and present regular planning and scheduling reports, dashboards, and forecasts for management and governance forums.
- Apply technical expertise to validate work breakdown structures, sequencing logic, dependencies, and effort estimates.
- Identify and proactively escalate schedule risks with clear analysis and recommended mitigation actions.
- Ensure schedules reflect realistic timelines aligned with planned value realization start dates.
- Support scenario analysis and re-planning exercises in response to scope changes, priority shifts, or external dependencies.
- Track initiative performance against baselines, focusing on milestone achievement and critical path impacts.
- Integrate schedules across initiatives, domains, and portfolios to ensure consistency with the IMP.
- Coordinate planning activities across Technology, Innovation, Finance, and Procurement stakeholders.
- Challenge unrealistic assumptions and provide expert input to enhance schedule quality and deliverability.
- Maintain and continuously improve planning standards, templates, methodologies, tools, and reporting practices across the T&I department.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in planning and scheduling of technical or engineering-based projects and initiatives.
