Job Purpose:
The Senior Specialist – Sustainability is responsible for implementing and supporting the management of ESG initiatives and strategies. This role requires the application of sustainability practices, compliance with regulations, and active stakeholder engagement to drive the organization’s sustainability agenda forward.
Job Accountabilities:
- Support the Implementation, and management of programs related to environmental conservation, social responsibility, and governance that adhere to international standards and regulations.
- Facilitate ESG factors to integrate it into all business decisions and operational processes, enhancing the company’s market position and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.
- Establish and maintain systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability data to facilitate decision-making and performance tracking.
- Assist in the creation of annual sustainability reports that detail the company’s ESG practices and performance metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Coordinate organizational processes and governance for SACC’s sustainability strategy to ensure alignment across all departments.
- Regularly review and update methodologies and performance frameworks to align with emerging standards, legislation (e.g., GRI, GHG Protocol, TCFD, IFRS ISSB), and best practices.
- Support in implementing strategies for waste reduction, recycling, and responsible waste disposal.
- Assist in enhancing resource efficiency in operations, particularly using technology and innovations that minimize environmental impact.
- Maintain relationships with local communities where the company operates. Develop community programs that contribute positively to these communities.
- Facilitate delivering awareness programs on sustainability and ESG practices for employees at all levels of the organization.
- Support the implementation of ESG-specific initiatives, including the development of business cases, execution plans, and impact evaluations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to ESG, and benchmark the company’s performance against peers and industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Social Sciences, Business Administration or equivalent.
- A minimum of 4 – 6 years of experience in the same or similar field
