We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Road Engineer to join our team in Riyadh. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering, with a proven track record in site supervision within the construction consultancy sector. As a Senior Road Engineer at WSP, you will lead and oversee the successful delivery of road infrastructure projects, leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills to drive excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and development of road infrastructure projects, including alignment studies, geometric design, pavement design, and drainage design, in accordance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct feasibility assessments, traffic impact analyses, and risk assessments to inform design decisions and optimize project outcomes.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance during the construction phase of road projects, conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance.
- Implement robust quality assurance and control measures to ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and standards.
- Develop and implement traffic management plans and safety measures to minimize disruptions and ensure safety of road users and workers.
- Monitor traffic flow, signage, and temporary diversions, and proactively address issues.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and communities to understand needs and expectations.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, providing regular updates, progress reports, and technical presentations.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively, tracking progress, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers to achieve objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Minimum of 15 years of experience in road engineering, focusing on site supervision within construction consultancy.
- Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of road design, construction, and maintenance, including standards, codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in CAD software and road engineering analysis tools.
- Strong project management skills, with ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of successful delivery of road infrastructure projects, focusing on safety, quality and innovation.
- Fluency in English;
Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
