Job Purpose

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning, governing, coordinating, and delivering strategic projects and transformation initiatives across the Group. The role will establish and manage a fit-for-purpose PMO framework, ensuring projects remain aligned with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, budgets, timelines, and operational priorities.

The incumbent will oversee multiple workstreams, coordinate internal stakeholders and external consultants, manage project risks, dependencies and issues, and provide concise, decision-ready reporting to senior management. The role will also ensure adherence to Group-wide operational standards, policies, procedures, industry best practices, and applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program & PMO Governance

  • Establish and manage a robust PMO framework covering governance, planning, reporting, risk, issue, dependency, resource, and financial management.
  • Define and maintain program standards, templates, methodologies, controls, and reporting cadence.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated program plan covering all strategic transformation initiatives and workstreams through 2030.
  • Monitor project progress against approved scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and benefits.
  • Ensure alignment between strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, business priorities, and project execution.
  • Prioritize, reschedule, and reallocate resources across projects based on business criticality and organizational priorities.
  • Ensure effective project governance throughout the complete project lifecycle.

2. Consultant & Vendor Management

  • Support procurement, evaluation, selection, contracting, and onboarding of external consultants and implementation partners.
  • Define clear scopes of work, deliverables, milestones, timelines, KPIs, and success criteria.
  • Act as the central coordination point between consultants, business teams, technology teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor consultant and vendor performance against agreed deliverables, budgets, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Identify and resolve overlaps, gaps, dependencies, and inconsistencies across consultant deliverables.
  • Ensure external partners comply with organizational policies, PMO standards, and regulatory requirements.

3. Business Requirements & Delivery Oversight

  • Oversee the development, validation, and prioritization of comprehensive Business Requirements.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly traceable to strategic objectives and are suitable for downstream solution design and implementation.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering across business, operations, compliance, risk, technology, investment, and other relevant functions.
  • Identify and manage dependencies between business requirements, operating model changes, technology implementation, and transformation initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams in resolving operational and delivery-related challenges.
  • Lead and coordinate system testing, UAT, implementation, go-live, product enhancements, and post-implementation activities.
  • Ensure appropriate change management and operational readiness before implementation.

4. Banking Operations & Product Management

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of banking applications, operational processes, products, and payment systems.
  • Work closely with business and operations teams to review existing products and processes and identify opportunities for:

  • Cost optimization
  • Revenue enhancement
  • Improved customer experience
  • Support transformation initiatives across areas such as Home Banking, ATM Management, Card Management, Foreign Trade, Treasury, Payments, and other banking operations.
  • Ensure new and enhanced products/processes comply with applicable policies, procedures, controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify operational risks and recommend best-practice solutions.

5. Stakeholder & Executive Management

  • Prepare concise, accurate, and decision-ready management reports, dashboards, presentations, and status updates.
  • Facilitate project steering committees, program governance forums, design authorities, and executive checkpoints.
  • Provide clear visibility of project status, key milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, financials, and required management decisions.
  • Act as a trusted interface between project sponsors, senior management, business leaders, consultants, technology teams, and delivery teams.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Escalate critical issues and risks appropriately and provide recommendations for resolution.

6. Project Delivery & Methodology

  • Manage projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation and requirements through implementation, go-live, and closure.
  • Apply appropriate Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid project management methodologies depending on project requirements.
  • Develop project plans, resource plans, milestones, budgets, RAID logs, communication plans, and implementation schedules.
  • Monitor project performance and take corrective action where required to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk parameters.

7. Operations Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Support capacity planning, resource management, performance management, MIS, budgeting, and operational planning.
  • Analyze operational performance and identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Establish and monitor appropriate KPIs and operational performance indicators.
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence across project and business teams.
  • Ensure projects comply with Group-wide policies, procedures, operational standards, industry best practices, and applicable laws and regulations.

8. Team Leadership & Coaching

  • Lead, motivate, organize, and empower project and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to project managers and team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance working environment.
  • Support team members in resolving complex project, operational, and technical challenges.
  • Promote knowledge sharing, accountability, and continuous professional development.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within an international bank, financial institution, or large-scale IT/operations environment.
  • Minimum 5–6 years of experience in a supervisory/management capacity, with significant responsibility for project/program management, banking operations, products, or business excellence.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale transformation programs and/or PMO functions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects across business and technology functions.
  • Previous experience in banking operations, banking applications, payment systems, or financial services is highly desirable.
