Responsibilities
Leads budgeting and manages project operations to the budget. Controls project staffing levels, organizational structure, and monitors project discipline structures.
Ensures project work and team activities meet all health, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
Plans, coordinates, and manages the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects, including taking aleadershiprole in the preparation of proposals.
Ensures clear agreement of client objectives and that these are met or exceeded.
Aims to achieve or better the budgeted gross margin.
Effectively manages Worley Parsons/Client contract, including delivery of the budget gross margin.
Monitors project performance on an ongoing basis to identify issues and opportunities early and take pre-emptive action.
Effectively manages project interfaces, including use of High Value Engineering centres.
Develops resource & financial requirements from the project plan.
Manages the design, procurement, and construction activities to meet the project schedule.
Holds ownership of the project schedule.
Routine monitoring of key reports and development of corrective action plans.
Monitors and controls all cost aspects of the project to forecast costs, obtain approvals, identify trends, and take action to avoid cost overruns and take advantage of opportunities.
Provides clear and focusedleadershipfor the project team to create a vision for project success and a strategy to fit that vision.
Assesses procurement processes throughout the project to ensure goods meet specifications, are delivered on time, and are within budget.
Monitors the Construction Management function to ensure safe delivery of the project within cost and schedule objectives.
Quality Assurance
Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of theQuality Assurancesystems.
Works with project managers/project engineers to ensure all projects are set up and executed in full compliance with all the requirements of the WorleyProject ManagementProcess (WPMP) and General Management System (EMS) using consistent approaches, Work Breakdown Structures, work methodologies, and reporting systems.
Monitors the closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
Safety
Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices. Understands and follows OH&S procedures.
Promotes health, safety, and environmental awareness.
Education
Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.
