Role Overview

The Senior OT Resident Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity and network infrastructure across multiple client sites. This role acts as the technical lead on site, ensuring successful solution delivery, system integration, and compliance with industrial cybersecurity standards. The engineer will serve as the primary technical liaison between the client, vendors, and internal project teams, ensuring operational excellence and secure, stable OT environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate end to end OT solution deployments across multiple industrial and critical infrastructure sites.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of OT cybersecurity platforms (e.g., Nozomi, Claroty, Dragos, etc.) and industrial networking systems.
  • Conduct site assessments, system validation, and acceptance testing to ensure solution performance and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to on site engineers and partner teams.
  • Maintain documentation for as built environments, network diagrams, and configuration baselines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, solution architects, and vendors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with client requirements.
  • Conduct periodic health checks and performance audits of deployed OT systems.
  • Support incident response and troubleshooting of complex OT/ICS environments.
  • Ensure all deployments adhere to ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, NCA OTCC, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Provide on site client training and handover sessions post deployment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in OT/ICS environments, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role.
  • Hands on experience with industrial control systems, SCADA, DCS, and PLCs.
  • Strong understanding of OT protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, PROFINET, etc.) and network architectures (OSI, Purdue Model).
  • Proven experience deploying and managing OT cybersecurity solutions.
  • Knowledge of firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching in industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with SIEMs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection for OT networks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across multiple sites.

  • ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • GICSP / GRID / CISSP (preferred)
  • Vendor certifications (if applicable)
