Role Brief:

The position will provide support to the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in ensuring compliance with the GCAA Aerodrome Certificate and GCAA Regulatory requirements. This will be achieved through the effective implementation and monitoring of the Safety Management System (SMS).

Key Job Responsibilities:

Support the Safety and Certifications Senior Manager in maintaining the GCAA Aerodrome Certificate by effectively implementing and monitoring the Safety Management System (SMS).

Assist the Senior Manager in developing, reviewing, updating, and communicating safety policies, manuals, and procedures. Ensure these documents are regularly reviewed to meet the Aerodrome Certificate and GCAA regulatory requirements.

Help develop strategic safety objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the aerodrome. Identify safety risks that need to be escalated to senior management during relevant safety review meetings.

Ensure compliance with objectives, standards, regulatory requirements, international standards, and best practices.

Monitor safety performance against strategic safety objectives and KPIs, providing reports to the Senior Manager.

Chair regular safety meetings and forums with key internal and external stakeholders.

Manage and maintain the hazard reporting log, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Update and maintain the Aerodrome/SMS manuals and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Assist the Senior Manager in preparing safety-related reports, safety assessments, and safety cases for submission to senior management and the GCAA.

Support the development and implementation of safety campaigns and awareness programs.

Continuously monitor compliance with the Aerodrome and Safety Management System manuals, offering guidance and assistance to other departments and stakeholders as needed.

Ensure that significant changes are managed through the Management of Change Process.

Required Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

Bachelor in a relevant discipline (e.g. Safety Management System)

A minimum of five years of relevant experience. Significant industry experience with demonstrable positions and related courses, certificates, accreditation suitable and acceptable to the business and role.

Ability to evaluate risks and implement safety protocols effectively.

Expertise in aviation regulations and ensuring operational compliance.

Skilled in maintaining and managing safety-related certifications and documentation.

Capable of assessing and creating detailed safety case reports
