Job Role:

Senior Officer – Supervisor – Property, Financial Lines, Engineering, Liabilities & Energy Claims (Indirect)

Job Purpose:

The job holder is responsible to perform an all-encompassing role, adjusting, managing and assessing marine hull claims. This job is also requires to liase with other departments, brokers, stakeholders and policy holders, delivering a high level of service throughout the entire claims process.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Policies, Processes and procedures:

  • Follows all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Claims Activities:

  • Collects the requisite claim information and documentation from the clients
  • Interacts with clients to arrange the missing documents or information
  • Builds a claim file in accordance with the standard operating procedures
  • Enters/Updates claims information into claims management system.
  • Creates the reserve accurately basis the type and size of claim and updates whenever necessary.
  • Handles Handling inbound and outbound claims queries
  • Executes the claim strategies as per standard Operating Procedures
  • Notifies the internal/external surveyor to conduct preliminary assessment
  • Evaluates the survey report and challenge the assessment
  • Analyses and adjusts hull claims in respect of particular average; total loss; collision liability; freight; loss of hire, mortgagee’s interest.
  • Submits Property, Financial Lines, Engineering, Liabilities & Energy Claims reports (regular and Ad hoc) to the Manager.

Customer Satisfaction:

  • Meets the customer service standards and address all claim related queries and increase the customer satisfaction.

Rejection of Claims:

  • Claims that are invalid and are to be declined to be returned after approval by appropriate authority.
  • Refers complicated cases to the Marine Claims Manager for evaluation.
  • Marks suspicious claims for audit and performs investigation.
  • Participates and contributes in the discussion for finding the best possible solutions.

Reports:

Provides Management with appropriate reports regarding the unit and compliance with operational policy and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Bachelor’s degree

YEARS & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE

2 to 4 years of relevant experience

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Full Professional Proficiency in English language
