Job Purpose:

The Sr. Officer – Branch Operations ensures the efficient functioning of various back-office operations within the branch. This includes handling account opening, loan operations, maintenance of accounts, and Mulkiya custody. He/she is involved in achieving operational targets, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and performing end-of-day (EOD) documentation tasks.

Key Accountabilities:

Facilitates the opening of new accounts for New to Bank (NTB) customers and processes account requests for existing customers ensuring strict adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.

Verifies customer documentation, performs due diligence checks, and liaises with relevant departments to complete the account opening process efficiently.

Ensures timely maintenance of Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation and account information for Existing-To-Bank (ETB) customers.

Conducts periodic reviews of customer profiles, updates account information, and performs necessary compliance checks to meet regulatory standards.

Manages loan operations processes, including stage payment and disbursement documentation for seller/buyout transactions.

Verifies loan documents, processes disbursements, and ensures accurate recording and scanning of loan-related paperwork.

Handles various loan service requests, including freeze requests, scheduling, restructuring, early settlement, and deferment.

Maintains custody and controls of Mulkiya documents by established procedures.

Ensures proper documentation, storage, and handling of Mulkiya items.

Prepares and maintains accurate end-of-day documentation, including transaction logs, reconciliation reports, and other operational records.

Works towards achieving branch targets related to various products/services.

Ensures compliance with banking regulations, policies, and procedures governing back-office operations, including KYC/AML regulations and loan documentation requirements.

Stays updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure adherence and mitigate operational risks.

Supervises and guides the back-office team at the branch to ensure operational accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in banking or financial services, particularly in back-office operations, is preferred. Experience in areas such as account opening, loan operations, compliance, or documentation management is advantageous.

Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for process improvements or operational efficiency.

Meticulous attention to detail is essential for accurately processing transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are important for liaising with internal departments, handling customer inquiries, and preparing documentation.

Strong problem-solving skills are necessary for resolving operational issues, addressing customer concerns, and implementing solutions to improve processes.

Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and procedures in a fast-paced banking environment.

Knowledge of banking regulations, policies, and procedures governing back-office operations, including KYC/AML regulations, is essential.
