Senior Mechanical Engineer – Job Description
- Role Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer leads mechanical works across fit‑out/civil/MEP projects, ensuring all HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and mechanical installations are executed as per design, authority regulations, and project timelines. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and coordination with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design Review — Review HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, LPG, and mechanical shop drawings and specifications.
- Project Planning — Prepare material submittals, method statements, and project execution plans.
- Site Execution — Supervise daily site activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and standards.
- MEP Coordination — Coordinate with civil, electrical, and fit‑out teams to avoid clashes and ensure smooth workflow.
- Authority Approvals — Manage submissions and approvals with Dubai Municipality, DCD, DEWA, DSO, Trakhees, and other authorities.
- Material & Vendor Management — Evaluate suppliers, verify material compliance, and ensure timely delivery.
- Quality & Safety Compliance — Ensure installations meet QA/QC standards and HSE requirements.
- Testing & Commissioning — Lead T&C activities for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems.
- Documentation & Reporting — Maintain daily reports, inspection requests, as‑built drawings, and project close‑out documents.
- Team Leadership — Guide junior engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
Technical Expertise Required
- HVAC Systems — DX units, VRF/VRV, FAHU, FCU, exhaust systems.
- Plumbing & Drainage — Water supply, drainage, pumps, water heaters.
- Firefighting Systems — Sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, DCD compliance.
- MEP Software — AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Ductulator.
- Authority Standards — DCD, DM, DEWA, DSO, Trakhees, JAFZA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7–12 years of experience in MEP / Fit‑Out / Construction (UAE preferred).
- Strong knowledge of UAE authority regulations.
