Summary: A Senior Materials Engineer with extensive experience in road projects, responsible for supervising materials testing, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and managing quality control for all pavement and soil works.
Key Responsibilities
- Materials Testing — Oversee laboratory and field tests for soil, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete.
- Quality Control — Ensure all materials meet MOT, AASHTO, ASTM, and project specifications.
- Mix Design — Review and approve asphalt and concrete mix designs.
- Site Inspection — Conduct inspections for pavement layers, compaction, and material placement.
- Technical Reporting — Prepare materials compliance reports, test summaries, and quality assessments.
- Coordination — Work with contractors, consultants, and labs to resolve material-related issues.
- Problem Solving — Identify failures in pavement or soil works and recommend corrective actions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in materials engineering for road/highway projects.
- Strong knowledge of pavement materials, soil mechanics, and asphalt technology.
- Proficiency in lab testing standards and quality control procedures.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
