Job Role
The Senior Lead Estimator (Electrical) is responsible for leading the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for electrical works across infrastructure, utilities, industrial, and building projects. The role involves reviewing tender documents, preparing detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates, evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations, identifying commercial risks and value engineering opportunities, and supporting business development by delivering technically compliant and commercially competitive bids.
Key Responsibilitie
- Lead the preparation of detailed electrical cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents to identify project scope, risks, and commercial opportunities.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, cost build-ups, estimate reconciliations, and pricing for MV/LV systems, substations, power distribution, lighting, earthing, and associated electrical works.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project teams to develop accurate and competitive bids.
- Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, identify risks, and support tender strategies.
- Review contractor estimates, variation requests, and pricing submissions, providing commercial and technical recommendations.
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while maintaining compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost benchmarks, and market pricing information.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company procedures, quality standards, and commercial confidentiality.

Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 13–15+ years of experience in electrical estimation for infrastructure, utilities, industrial, or large-scale building project.
- Strong knowledge of MV/LV systems, substations, power distribution, lighting, earthing, cable routing, and associated electrical installation.
- Proficient in estimation software, quantity take-off tools, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems (SAP preferred.
- Strong understanding of value engineering, cost planning, tendering procedures, FIDIC contracts, and commercial risk management.
- Knowledge of local material pricing, labor productivity, subcontractor management, and electrical construction methodologies.
- GCC experience preferred.
- MMUP/UPDA Engineer Registration is preferred.
