We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer (Passive) to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining passive network infrastructure, including cabling, racks, and related hardware. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of passive network components and their integration into larger network systems. You will be responsible for optimizing network infrastructure, ensuring high reliability, and providing technical expertise to support team members on passive networking solutions.
Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and implement passive network infrastructure, including data centers, copper cabling, patch panels, and racks.
Develop and refine network designs for high-performance, scalable passive systems, ensuring compatibility with active networking components (routers, switches, etc.).
Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure, identify needs, and propose appropriate passive network solutions.
Oversee the installation, maintenance, and management of structured cabling systems for LAN and data center networks.
Optimize and troubleshoot passive network systems to ensure network performance and minimize downtime.
Produce clear, concise network diagrams, schematics, and documentation for passive infrastructure projects.
Work closely with active network engineers, construction teams, and vendors to ensure seamless integration of passive components with active infrastructure.
Provide support to internal and external stakeholders regarding passive networking issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in designing and implementing passive network infrastructure.
Strong understanding of passive network components such as cabling types (fiber, copper), patch panels, and racks.
Familiarity with active networking components and their integration with passive systems.
Proficient in network design and architecture principles.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong documentation skills with experience in creating network diagrams and project documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Network+ or equivalent) are a plus.
