WSP is looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modelling Engineer to join our team for a stormwater project in Jeddah. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, stormwater drainage systems, and flood risk management. This role requires a civil engineering background and expertise in using advanced modelling tools to design and optimize stormwater solutions.
Your new role, what’s involved?
Develop and analyze stormwater and flood management models using software like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MIKE FLOOD, TUFLOW, and Civil 3D.
Conduct rainfall-runoff simulations, floodplain mapping, and water flow analysis for stormwater networks.
Design stormwater drainage networks, retention basins, culverts, and flood mitigation measures.
Evaluate the effectiveness of stormwater solutions and propose design improvements.
Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian regulations, environmental standards, and international best practices in stormwater management.
Support project permitting and approvals with relevant authorities.
Integrate hydraulic models with GIS tools for spatial analysis and visualization.
Assess topographic, meteorological, and hydrological data to enhance modelling accuracy.
Identify flood risks and develop strategies to minimize impacts on infrastructure and communities.
Conduct climate resilience assessments for stormwater infrastructure.
Work closely with project managers, environmental specialists, and design teams to develop integrated solutions.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulics, or Water Resources Engineering.
Minimum 15 years of experience in hydraulic modelling, stormwater drainage, and flood risk management.
Prior experience in stormwater projects, urban drainage systems, and flood mitigation in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is preferred.
Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MIKE FLOOD, TUFLOW, and Civil 3D.
Experience with GIS tools for hydrological mapping and spatial analysis.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent technical writing and report preparation capabilities.
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with government agencies and consultants.
Proficiency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
