Senior HSE Engineer (Saudi National)
Location:
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
- Advise and assist Project and Construction Management in the formulation, implementation and management of project safety plans. These plans may pertain to one or more job site locations, which are separate and distinct construction operations requiring integrated supervision of programs.
- Report functionally to the senior construction site representative and organizationally to the Safety Manager.
- Ensure that the project safety plan reflects company policy and provides a coordinated plan for the overall project which complies with the prevailing safety requirements.
- Advise and assist the senior construction site representative in the establishment and management of the job site safety program, identifying and eliminating/controlling any hazards to persons and property.
- Inspect the job site to detect and correct safety hazards.
- Supervise first aid personnel in providing first aid care of occupationally injured or ill personnel.
- Audit the job accident records and periodically prepare an audit report of these records.
- Initiate and conduct accident investigations and prepare job accident reports.
- Represent management during safety inspections of the job site by regulatory authorities or company insurance carriers.
- Receive, review and distribute safety inspection reports with recommended corrective actions.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Provide comprehensive safety training to all workers, including site hazards, safe work procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Promote safety awareness, encourage a strong safety culture on site by actively promoting safe work practices, communicating safety information and recognizing safe behaviours.
- Monitor workplace health conditions, implement health and hygiene programs and address the health concern.
- Maintain the HSE documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field.
- A minimum of 7 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety.
- Certified by a recognized Safety, Health or Environmental body (NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO, OSHA).
- Valid Saudi Council of Engineering membership (SCE).
