Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HSE Engineer to lead and support Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) activities on a major Oil & Gas / Petrochemical project. The role involves process safety leadership, risk management, and ensuring full compliance with project and international HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor all HSE activities including inspections, training, and risk management
- Review and approve HSE deliverables, project specifications, and design documents
- Conduct and lead risk assessments for site activities (lifting, confined space, excavation, etc.)
- Monitor and ensure compliance with PTW, JSA, and MOC systems
- Lead and participate in HAZOP, HAZID, What-if and QRA studies
- Evaluate process safety risks including fire, explosion, and toxic release scenarios
- Provide HSE guidance to contractors and project teams
- Ensure implementation of corrective actions and close-out of HSE recommendations
- Promote process safety culture across the organization
- Interface with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and internal HSE teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred)
- NEBOSH Certification (Mandatory)
- 15+ years Oil & Gas / Petrochemical experience
- Minimum 8 years in Process Safety roles
- Strong knowledge of international HSE standards and practices
- Experience in HAZOP, HAZID, and QRA studies
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
