Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice to customers, including commissioning, installation, and testing of HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB and related equipment.
- Identify and correct complex problems associated with start‑up and operational issues.
- Research, evaluate and recommend new products or equipment upgrades that meet customer needs.
- Participate in site activities: installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of HV equipment.
- Coordinate with project teams for the PGHV project, interface with tools management, and handle HV tools and test equipment for installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Assemble GIS bays or compartments, perform minor fabrication, troubleshoot HV product defects, and advise on repair action plans whether on‑site or at Hitachi Energy factory.
- Support PGHV service activities at customer sites.
- Operate test equipment used for HV product testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
- Learn and apply procedures and methods for using special tools required for HV product service jobs.
- Share knowledge and train fellow engineers and technicians.
- Work with the Project Management team on various projects, ensuring compliance with PM requirements and site regulations.
- Lead contractors or subcontractors during job execution and coordinate resources with customers and back‑office support.
- Obtain customer sign‑off of timesheets for invoicing purposes.
- Prepare and deliver site reports, activity plans, resource requirements, and method statements as required by customers or contract terms.
- Follow company rules and regulations, maintain safety and integrity standards, and report incidents to line manager, supervisor, or project manager.
- Implement Hitachi Energy values in daily activities.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly timesheets, expense reports, and travel authorizations in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- 6–10 years of experience with high‑voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, and HV switch gear protection and control.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
