We are continuously recruiting talented individuals to fill our current and future vacancies for the Senior Engineer – Utilities role here in our Doha, Qatar office.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Liaise with the Planning Authority and other government departments and utility providers regarding drainage requirements.
Assist in the preparation of strategic plans for general development.
Assist in initiating new work and prepare design briefs for Consultants.
Familiarity with contractual procedures of contracts and other international contract conditions e.g. FIDIC.
Audit Consultants’ submissions in terms of quality and conformance to the requirements of the design briefs.
Assist in the preparation of the annual design budget.
Review Consultants’ design submissions.
Liaise with various Drainage engineers within DD to ensure conformity to the overall plan and highlight conflicts.
Assist in reviewing current design practices and modify as necessary.
Be acquainted with the administration procedures of the DD.
Provide technical advice on Drainage matters.
Assist in the preparation of cycle reports.
Liaise with the Roads Department.
Education
/
Minimum Qualifications:
B.Sc Civil Engineering.
Chartered/Professional Engineer from a Western European or American Institution.
Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project, with knowledge of GIS.
Up to 15 years of experience in Civil and Public Health Engineering in sewerage infrastructure and storm drainage systems, including pumping stations and sewage treatment works.
Experience in Master Planning/Drainage area studies of large areas is essential.
Experience in CCTV work/Assets management/Manhole surveys/Hydraulic modelling is advantageous.
Experience in projects involving government departments and public/private organizations.
Experience in Development Control would be an advantage.
Candidate Profile:
Ability to speak and write Arabic would be an advantage.
Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.
Sound written and verbal communication skills together with interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain a pro-active and organized approach.
Good attention to detail coupled with the ability to focus on the wider objectives.
