WSP is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with a proven track record in leading design projects within the Building Services Engineering space.
Your role
and responsibilities
Define Mechanical Building Services Engineering strategies and undertake feasibility studies across various project types in the Middle East.
Ensure high-quality Building Services Engineering designs are delivered on time by adopting a hands-on, technically focused approach.
Develop technical solutions to complex problems, requiring ingenuity and creativity.
Act as a key point of contact on projects, engaging directly with clients and delivering presentations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Conduct project reviews and checks in accordance with QA/QC procedures.
Embed sustainable principles in all mechanical services designs and ensure Health & Safety is integrated into all work practices in line with company policies.
Manage resources effectively across the team and projects, including engagement with the Complimentary Resource Centers (CRCs) to improve communication and design processes.
Candidate requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
Proficient in analytical/design software such as Revit, IES, and HAP.
Strong project management and leadership skills, comfortable making decisions.
Ability to foster collaboration within projects and the wider building services team.
15+ years post-qualification experience with broad mechanical design experience on large, diverse projects.
Confident and clear communicator, experienced in client interfacing.
Experience leading MEP teams for small-scale projects, managing resources, and delivering both technical and commercial aspects.
General understanding of all MEP systems for coordination with architects and sub-consultants.
