Position: Senior Engineer (Cable)
Responsibilities:
Leads a team of expert Cable Engineers and allocates duties to them.
Acts personally to ensure quick restoration of supply in case of loss of supply to sensitive consumers.
Guides the Engineers both in the field as well as in control for quick restoration of supply in case of system breakdown.
Attends to the priorities for the cable faults location, repairs & replacement of the old cables/switchgears.
Prepares the operational memorandum with the introduction of new equipment and changed situations.
Studies and analyses the cable faults and weaknesses of the system and takes remedial actions.
Supervises the old cable replacement & disconnection contracts and monitors both quality and quantity.
Shares preparation of the technical evaluation of the new cables contracts with other concerned staff.
Shares preparation of the technical evaluation of the required materials either new or existing and ensures the availability of cable work materials with other concerned staff.
Shares experiences with other related Sections/Departments for the introduction of the latest technology in the field of Electricity Distribution.
Coordinates with other sections to execute cable work in a high-quality manner, confirms quality of work, and updates all records by all concerned staff.
Follows up on repairing of cable faults in the 11KV & 415V network from reporting to restoration of supply.
Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Power).
At least 10 years experience in cable fault location & repairing of Distribution Networks.
Good knowledge of Distribution Planning and manpower management.
Good in speaking, reading, and writing English.
The ability to pinpoint work priorities.
Ability to organize work during emergency cases or faults.
