The Senior Design Manager will oversee the development, preparation, and management of project engineering documentation for successful delivery of all engineering activities, with initial focus on key assets for Phase 1 of THE LINE, particularly the museum.
This role involves developing strategies, plans, schedules, risk mitigation, resource management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring compliance with NEOM standards. The manager will lead a team of engineers, subject matter experts, secondees, and consultants, reporting to the Project Manager/Director and the Director of Engineering Management, ensuring project milestones and strategic objectives are met.
The role requires close collaboration with NEOM sectors and stakeholders to ensure engineering outcomes are effectively communicated and delivered. The Senior Design Manager must perform duties professionally, support project timelines, and adhere to formal instructions.
Key Responsibilities
& Accountabilities
Develop and manage engineering strategies, plans, schedules, and risk management frameworks.
Provide engineering expertise and guidance to ensure effective project outcomes.
Ensure compliance with NEOM codes, standards, and practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, architects, consultants, and contractors.
Drive engineering success, foster innovation, and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
Monitor and report on engineering progress.
Prepare scopes of work and evaluate technical proposals.
Manage team performance and project outcomes, ensuring alignment with objectives.
Background,
Skills & Qualifications
Over 15 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in senior or director roles, with 6 years in project management or leadership.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Master Planning, Engineering, or equivalent.
Proven leadership in managing engineering offices for major contractors, consultants, or developers.
Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and ability to work under pressure.
GCC experience and museum design/operation experience are desirable.
