About the Role
The Senior Design Manager:
Interior Design will operate within a PMC environment on a high‑profile development programme. The role will focus on managing the interior design process across project stages, supporting design governance, driving coordination across disciplines, and ensuring that project requirements are met through effective design management and stakeholder alignment.
This is a senior role requiring the ability to function confidently in a multinational, fast‑paced, highly visible programme environment with complex approvals, multiple work streams, and demanding quality expectations.
Responsibilities Interior Design Management
- Lead the management and review of interior design deliverables from concept through construction documentation and site support.
- Ensure interior design outputs align with project vision, client requirements, brand standards, operator expectations, and asset objectives.
- Review layouts, finishes, material palettes, joinery concepts, detailed design packages, and technical submissions for completeness, quality, and coordination.
- Ensure interior design intent is maintained throughout procurement, construction, fit‑out, and close‑out stages.
Multi‑Disciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate interior design interfaces with architecture, structure, MEP, lighting, acoustics, signage, kitchen/laundry planning, vertical transportation, ICT/security, and specialist systems.
- Identify and manage design risks, clashes, omissions, and coordination gaps across consultants and packages.
- Drive timely closure of design comments, open issues, and interface matters.
PMC Design Governance
- Support and enforce PMC design management procedures, review cycles, design gateways, and submission protocols.
- Manage design review workflows, workshop outputs, approvals tracking, and issue resolution logs.
- Contribute to design reporting, programme alignment, risk registers, and decision‑making forums.
- Ensure consultant deliverables are aligned with scope, schedule, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Management
- Interface with client representatives, operators, brand teams, design consultants, and internal Zutari/project teams.
- Facilitate and contribute to design coordination meetings, stakeholder workshops, and technical reviews.
- Communicate clearly and professionally across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Build trusted working relationships that enable timely decisions and effective issue resolution.
Quality, Compliance and Technical Assurance
- Ensure interior design packages comply with applicable codes, project standards, accessibility requirements, authority requirements, health and safety expectations, and operational needs.
- Participate in technical reviews, mock‑up assessments, sample reviews, and material approvals.
- Promote design quality, maintainability, functionality, and lifecycle value in interior solutions.
- Support constructability reviews and ensure design documentation is sufficiently coordinated for delivery.
Programme and Commercial Integration
- Monitor interior design deliverables against programme milestones and flag risks to time‑wise delivery.
- Support change management, value engineering, and scope control processes.
- Work with planning, commercial, procurement, and delivery teams to ensure that interior design packages are procurement‑ready and aligned to project priorities.
- Review the impact of design changes on quality, cost, programme, and stakeholder approvals.
