Job Purpose

This role is part of the Cyber Security team and is responsible for detecting, preventing, disrupting, investigating, responding to, and recovering from cyber risk events. The role is hands‑on technical with a good understanding of cyber security technical and organizational controls as per leading frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI‑DSS, SOC 2 Type 2. It requires technical expertise in Security Operations, Cyber Incident Response, Security Testing, Vulnerability Assessments, or Security Platforms administration to ensure cyber security in Qatar Airways.

Job Responsibilities

Security Technology Management & Administration

  • Manage, configure, monitor, and optimise DDoS Protection Platforms, including administration and tuning of enterprise‑grade systems.
  • Administer Web Application Firewall (WAF) implementation, policy management, rule tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) with signature updates, rule configuration, alert analysis, and integration with SOC workflows.
  • Administer Microsoft Purview for compliance, data governance, information protection, insider risk, and auditing capabilities.
  • Administer Application Whitelisting solutions with policy creation, exception handling, monitoring, incident handling, rule fine‑tuning, and reporting.

Operational Excellence & Issue Resolution

  • Provide expert‑level troubleshooting and timely resolution of incidents and configuration issues.
  • Perform detailed root‑cause analysis and recommend preventive measures.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work with the SOC team on threat detection, triage support, incident validation, and technology integration.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure teams for deployments, network dependencies, and change‑management activities.
  • Collaborate with GRC to align technology controls with compliance frameworks, audits, and governance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards for technology performance, security metrics, incident statistics, and compliance KPIs.
  • Prepare periodic operational, performance, and governance reports for leadership and audit needs.
  • Evaluate emerging threats, new product capabilities, and optimisation opportunities.
  • Participate in security maturity uplift, process improvements, and automation initiatives.

About You

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (no prior experience required).

Experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Platform administration – security configuration of network and endpoint security appliances and software, security policy enforcement, and compliance monitoring across the organization.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
