Senior Chief Engineer- Freight Management Jobs in Dubai, UAE at Roads and Transport Authority
Developing infrastructure, engineering studies, and policies to regulate truck and freight vehicle movement, enhance traffic safety, and protect road users’ lives and property in Dubai. This includes tasks related to engineering, policies, strategies, creating and developing road elements and furniture, and improving the truck movement and freight transport system by applying
modern
global practices and reviewing
innovative
technologies. The role also involves supervising and participating in the design and implementation of engineering and traffic plans, procedures, and studies in a timely, sustainable, and economical manner, including highway
safety measures
.
Key Responsibilities
Review and audit permits related to truck movement, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.
Manage and develop the transportation and freight movement system to address congestion, designing engineering solutions or strategic policies.
Analyze data related to truck movement, review new road projects, and propose solutions, ensuring infrastructure like truck rest areas, parking lots, lanes, ban times, loading/unloading areas are included.
Monitor performance indicators for the Truck Movement Department, aligning them with strategic goals and the emirate’s objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree +8 years, Master’s degree +5 years of relevant experience.
Skills Strong knowledge of traffic engineering safety, transportation systems, safety audits, traffic management, and roadside design.
Understanding of highway engineering design elements and their relation to truck traffic.
Familiarity with monitoring and tracking systems in Dubai.
Knowledge of local and federal laws, procedures for issuing government orders, and legal implications.
Analytical thinking skills to improve engineering work procedures.
Arabic language skills are preferred.
