Senior Biomedical Engineer-Biomedical Engineering Jobs in Abu Dhabi, UAE/Dubai at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City – SSMC
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct research by publishing research findings or investigating literature.
- Perform biomedical investigations in support of medical risk management for potential hazards and incidents involving medical equipment and devices.
- Interpret technical data and specifications to assist in procurement of new equipment purchases, and provide guidance on the maintenance of medical and scientific instrumentation based on biomedical application, manufacturer guidelines, national codes, standard of care, and customer requirements.
- Provide feedback to assist in the planning of new facility modifications related to medical equipment and accessories used in new or modified biomedical care areas.
- Provide guidelines on the most suitable equipment in relation to the existing environment and facility requirements.
- Oversee and support all engineering drawings of medical equipment and ensure accuracy of details such as electrical circuits, control programs, civil and mechanical aspects, and all related components.
- Ensure the specifications of each item of equipment and availability of spare parts (both on and off site) in case of breakdown.
- Ensure market availability of spare parts or replacements for equipment no longer under warranty.
- Assist in the preparation of SSMC’s annual physical asset management and maintenance plan.
- Monitor the external environment for best practices in the management and maintenance of biomedical equipment.
- Prepare technical requirements and conduct technical evaluations to acquire and select new medical technology.
- Assist and conduct necessary site tests, and record, analyze, and interpret test data, proposing modifications and retesting equipment as necessary.

- Ensure implementation of regulatory standards, policies, and procedures applicable to all technical areas of service.
- Coordinate with relevant vendors to arrange any necessary training for concerned personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience –
Required:
- Minimum 7 years of postgraduate experience in Biomedical Engineering; of which at least 4 years should have been at a senior supervisory or management level or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role (details not specified).

Educational Qualification –
Required:
- BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent qualification requiring at least 3 years of training.

- Relevant postgraduate degree: MSc or PhD.
