Role Overview
The Senior BIM Manager will lead our BIM team (PMC) in supporting project management initiatives, ensuring seamless integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across all project phases. This role requires a strategic mindset and expertise in digital design, process auditing, and advanced technology applications to drive project efficiency from inception through construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing BIM readiness, developing strategic roadmaps, mobilizing BIM teams, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality digital models that integrate asset and geospatial data.
Responsibilities
- Roadmap and Strategy Development
- Advise on the creation and implementation of BIM standards, including AIR (Asset Information Requirements), EIR (Employer’s Information Requirements), and BEP (BIM Execution Plan).
- Develop strategic roadmaps for BIM deployment and digital transformation to support project objectives.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to align BIM strategies with overall project goals.
- BIM Team On‑Boarding and Mobilization
- Lead the recruitment, training, and integration of BIM team members.
- Establish onboarding protocols and ensure effective mobilization for project commencement.
- Coordinate cross-functional team efforts to maintain a cohesive and productive BIM unit.
- BIM Readiness Assessment (Project Inception & Milestones)
- Conduct comprehensive audits of design processes, resources, technology, and standards.
- Evaluate project-specific BIM requirements and determine readiness for advanced digital implementations.
- Perform periodic readiness assessments at key project milestones, focusing on asset information and geospatial data integration.
- Monitoring and Development of the Project Information Model
- Oversee the development of the Project Information Model during design and construction phases.
- Leverage the latest technologies, including VR environments, to conduct advanced digital reviews.
- Implement automated progress tracking systems and generate comprehensive reports to monitor project performance.
- Ensure timely updates and accuracy of digital models, facilitating seamless communication among project teams.
- Technology and Process Innovation
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in BIM, VR, and digital project management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend innovative solutions to enhance BIM operations.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to drive digital transformation across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in BIM management within large‑scale construction or engineering projects.
- In‑depth knowledge of BIM processes, digital design methodologies, and industry standards (e.g., AIR, EIR, BEP).
- Proven experience with BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD) and advanced digital review tools (e.g., VR platforms).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership and team mobilization skills, with experience managing cross‑functional teams.
- Outstanding analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with asset information management and geospatial data integration is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications in BIM management or related disciplines.
- Experience in digital transformation initiatives within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with data automation tools and progress tracking software.
- Advanced degree or additional technical certifications in relevant fields.
