Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Engineer to join our engineering consultancy team. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in architectural design, authority approvals, and Fire & Life Safety (FLS) requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural design and development from concept through detailed design and construction.
- Manage architectural design, interior design, design research, client coordination, and project delivery.
- Prepare and review architectural drawings for all project stages, including DC1/DC2, and follow up with relevant authorities until obtaining final approvals and building permits.
- Prepare and review Fire & Life Safety (FLS) drawings and ensure full compliance with QCDD requirements.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, interior design, and other disciplines to ensure fully coordinated, clash-free, and compliant designs.
- Prepare detailed architectural and interior design drawings, technical specifications, material schedules, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- Develop and review high-quality 3D presentations and design visualizations.
- Attend client meetings to understand project requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Conduct site visits for site verification, as-built surveys, design validation, and progress monitoring.
- Supervise construction and fit-out works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with government authorities and utility agencies throughout the approval process.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise architects, engineers, and drafting teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, review civil and finishing works, and prepare technical and progress reports.
- Verify completed works and support the issuance of Completion Certificates.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring submission deadlines and client requirements are achieved.
- Respond to contractor technical queries, RFIs, and tender clarifications.
- Prepare tender documentation, including BOQs, specifications, scope of work, and technical reports.
- Perform other senior architectural and project management duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in architectural consultancy and project management.
- Grade A UPDA is mandatory.
- QCDD Fire & Life Safety (FLS) Approval is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), Qatar authority regulations, and international building codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Proficiency in Revit, BIM, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Lumion/3ds Max is an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and client management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
