Purpose of the Role
To lead and manage architectural design activities across construction projects, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and coordinated design deliverables aligned with project requirements, local regulations, and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Leadership
- Lead architectural design development from concept to detailed design stage.
- Ensure all designs align with project brief, client requirements, and budget constraints.
- Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and material selections.
- Coordination & Integration
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
- Manage design interfaces between consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Resolve design conflicts and technical issues proactively.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local authority requirements.
- Liaise with authorities for design approvals and submissions.
- Maintain adherence to international codes and best practices.
- Construction Support
- Provide technical support during the construction phase.
- Review shop drawings, material submittal, and RFIs.
- Conduct site visits to ensure design implementation is accurate.
- Quality & Documentation
- Maintain high standards of design quality and documentation.
- Ensure timely delivery of design packages as per project schedule.
- Participate in design reviews and value engineering exercises.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred).
- UPDA/MMUP Certification (Grade A or B preferred).
- 10–12 years of experience in architectural design within construction projects.
- Strong experience in design consultancy or contractor design teams.
- Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of local regulations in Qatar.
