OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Senior Application Specialist is responsible for providing technical and clinical support on general orthopedic surgery (Recon, Sports, Trauma) throughout the sales process. The role involves promoting medical devices, demonstrating device specifications and performance features, and controlling device parameters in accordance with the vendor’s manual and specifications. Responsibilities include presales demonstrations, post-sales training, installation, and end-user surgical support, including surgery coverage and training.
Candidates must have knowledge of orthopedic surgeries, anatomy, and instrumentation to provide optimal customer support and ensure smooth operation of products. The application specialist reports directly to the specialty manager and/or BUM and collaborates with the commercial team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create high-quality technical collateral emphasizing the scientific capabilities of products and providing total solutions for customers.
Assist in stock management, surgical set preparations, consignment management, and customer training.
Act as the primary contact for customer queries regarding equipment usage and parameters.
Memorize product features and present their functionalities using applicable medical terminology.
Perform testing during new equipment installation and software implementation.
Exhibit product expertise during customer support and clinical training.
Coordinate with the service team to address equipment problems.
Understand customer needs and expectations proactively.
Create reports on demonstrations, feedback, and customer satisfaction.
Communicate customer issues and opportunities to the sales team.
Collaborate with service and quality assurance teams to identify root causes of equipment problems and implement corrective actions.
Track vendor-related issues from discovery to resolution.
Follow established processes to deliver high-quality service efficiently.
Analyze competitor products and highlight our product features to customers.
Support business strategy and process improvements.
Coordinate pre- and post-sales support with the sales team.
Learn new technologies proactively.
Organize and deliver training through workshops, forums, and seminars.
Coordinate with service and project management teams for onsite training sessions.
Maintain company equipment in good condition.
Develop in-depth technical product knowledge.
Work effectively within a team.
Maintain existing customer relationships and inform them of upgrades or new products.
Build ongoing relationships with customers.
