Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Advisor for Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Supervision to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will lead initiatives to ensure compliance with SH&E regulations, develop robust safety programs, and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary contact for all SH&E-related matters, offering expert guidance to management and staff.
Design, implement, and manage comprehensive SH&E strategies and programs in line with organizational objectives and regulatory standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and opportunities for improvement.
Lead investigations into accidents, injuries, and near-misses, and drive the implementation of corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate best practices in SH&E across all operations.
Supervise and mentor junior SH&E staff, supporting their growth and maintaining high standards of performance.
Stay current with UAE and international SH&E regulations and best practices, ensuring full compliance.
Develop and deliver SH&E training programs to enhance awareness and skills across the organization.
Prepare and present detailed SH&E reports and recommendations to senior management.
Manage emergency response planning and crisis management initiatives effectively.
Serve as the company representative for regulatory bodies on SH&E matters.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification (mandatory for those with Engineering or related degrees).
At least 10 years of experience in SH&E, with a focus on supervision and leadership.
Proven expertise in developing, implementing, and managing effective safety programs.
Comprehensive knowledge of UAE and international SH&E regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effective risk assessments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing all levels within the organization.
Proficiency in SH&E management software and reporting tools.
Demonstrated experience in inspections, reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
Expertise in emergency response planning and crisis management.
Familiarity with international standards like ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
Strong leadership and supervisory abilities, with a talent for mentoring and developing team members.
Solid understanding of local UAE safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to adapt to cultural differences within a diverse work environment.
Willingness totravel within the UAE for site inspections and audits as required.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Goal-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement in SH&E practices.
Decisive in addressing safety concerns and implementing corrective measures swiftly.
