As a Senior Accounts Payable specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our financial operations. You will work within a dynamic Finance team, contributing your expertise to support our rapid growth and uphold our commitment to ethical financial stewardship. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about operational excellence, continuous improvement, and ethical finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and process all accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Review, verify, and reconcile invoices in compliance with Mal’s internal controls and Sharia guidelines
  • Manage vendor relationships, addressing queries and resolving discrepancies promptly
  • Prepare payment runs, monitor cashflow, and maintain proper documentation for audits
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounts payable workflows and drive process improvements
  • Support month-end close activities and provide detailed accounts payable reports to management
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and support internal/external audit requests

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Proven senior-level experience managing accounts payable operations, preferably in the financial services or fintech sector
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, controls, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high transaction volumes with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working with modern accounting software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to ethical financial practices and alignment with Mal’s mission
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural, and hybrid work environment
  • Qualifications (ACCA etc) preferred

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in a Sharia-compliant or Islamic banking environment
  • Familiarity with Dubai/UAE financial regulations
  • Exposure to process automation or digital transformation in finance
  • Knowledge of Arabic language
  • Advanced Excel or data analysis skills
