Job Summary
Joga Ram General Trading L.L.C. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee accounting operations across multiple business entities. The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of accounting experience, preferably within a multi-entity organization, with strong knowledge of financial reporting, statutory compliance, reconciliations, and month-end closing. The role requires someone who can work independently while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities across multiple group entities
- Prepare and maintain accurate books of accounts in line with company policy and applicable accounting standards
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules
- Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany balances, supplier accounts, customer accounts, and general ledger accounts
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely processing and collections
- Process journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset accounting
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory requirements
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing required documentation
- Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
- Review accounting transactions for completeness and accuracy
- Support the development and implementation of accounting policies, internal controls, and process improvements
- Assist with payroll accounting and employee-related financial transactions as required
- Liaise with banks, suppliers, customers, and government authorities on finance-related matters
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CMA, or CPA is an advantage
- 4–6 years of accounting experience, including exposure to multiple legal entities or group companies
- Experience in trading, manufacturing, or contracting industries preferred
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end/year-end closing
- Good understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial analysis)
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, Zoho Books, or Odoo
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
