Position: School Registrar / Secretary
#### Job Description
Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
Maintain high-quality communication from and within the Principal’s office. Liaise with tact and diplomacy with school staff, parents, and representatives of the GEMS Corporate Office.
Liaise with all school secretaries regarding students, parents, faculty, and staff.
Update staff information on the OASIS Personnel module and relevant Education Authorities’ systems.
Manage the Principal’s appointment calendar and handle all professional communication and public relations needs.
Assist in organizing school events and promote them effectively to enhance the school’s visibility.
Coordinate personnel needs such as contract writing, attendance and reporting, employee files, and preparation of reports including annual reports and budgets.
Provide high-quality reception and hospitality for visitors and those seeking to communicate with the Principal.
Ensure adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct at all times.
Demonstrate initiative and extra effort beyond regular work hours when necessary.
Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by direct and dotted line managers.
Skills
Qualifications/knowledge: Very good/fluent English & Arabic speaker – a must & preferred. Maintain confidentiality and exemplify personal and professional integrity. Exhibit excellent written and spoken English skills, including exceptional phone skills.
Skills: Demonstrate competence in computer skills using Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and related programs. Exhibit effective interpersonal skills for daily contact with a diverse, multicultural population. Possess excellent organizational and office management skills, with the ability to multitask and delegate effectively.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registrar or Secretary in an office or school environment.
