The Role
The school nurse serves in a pivotal role to provide expertise and oversight for the provision of school health services.
Using clinical knowledge and judgment, the school nurse provides healthcare to students and staff.
Performs health screenings and coordinates referrals to the medical home or private healthcare provider if necessary.
We are looking for a nurse to ensure our children are safe, healthy, and happy in school so they can focus on amazing learning.
Core Purposes To support children’s health and wellbeing in order for children to fully participate in active school life.
To provide medical attention to staff and pupils.
To ensure that medical information is shared in a timely manner on a need-to-know basis.
To implement systems and policies to ensure the wellbeing of all members of the school community and in line with DHA and KHDA regulations.
Key
Duties
To ensure children are safe and well cared for at all times.
Treating children and staff.
Arranging to get the child/person home safely or to alternative care, e.g., to hospital.
Administering medication according to school and DHA policy.
Performing health checks.
Ensuring safe storage, usage, and disposal of medical supplies and drugs.
Maintenance of first aid kits around the school and replacement of supplies.
Ensuring that medication such as Epipens are at hand for community members  ensure that the school lifesaving equipment is always accessible and functional.
Maintenance of child files, medical records, and treatment records.
Liaising with local health authorities in the organisation of immunisation programmes.
To comply with our agreed policies.
To actively participate in the performance management process of self and others.
To maintain
positive working
relationships with all members of the school community.
Able to work independently without medical backup on site.
Willing to make a full contribution to the life of the school.
