SCADA (ELECTRICAL) ENGINEER

Location: Qatar
Work Schedule: 5 Days per Week
Salary & Benefits:
- Option 1: QAR 4,750–5,000 + Accommodation + Transportation + Other Benefits
- Option 2: Full Package QAR 6,000–6,500 + Transportation (Accommodation not included)
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electronic Engineering.
Experience & Technical Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience working with SCADA systems in electrical utilities.
- Strong hands-on experience with GE SCADA systems, including:
- GE Historian
- SCADA databases
- Communication protocols
- SCADA system configuration and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of power system operations, including:
- Generation
- Transmission
- Distribution
- Proven experience in substation integration with SCADA systems.
- Good knowledge of SCADA concepts, databases, and communication protocols, including:
- ICCP
- IEC-based protocols/standards
- Knowledge of OT/ICS cybersecurity practices for electrical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with international standards such as:
- ISA
- IEC 62443
- ISO 27001
- Knowledge of relevant local regulations and cybersecurity requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English in both spoken and written communication; Arabic is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support SCADA systems for electrical utility operations.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain GE SCADA systems, Historian, databases, and communication interfaces.
- Support integration of substations and electrical network equipment with the central SCADA system.
- Monitor SCADA system performance and troubleshoot communication, database, and system-related issues.
- Support reliable data acquisition from generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot SCADA communication protocols and interfaces, including ICCP and IEC-based protocols.
- Support SCADA system upgrades, modifications, testing, commissioning, and integration activities.
- Ensure accurate and reliable real-time data acquisition, monitoring, alarms, and historical data.
- Support database management and historical data/Historian systems.
- Apply appropriate OT/ICS cybersecurity practices to protect electrical control infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with ISA, IEC 62443, ISO 27001, and applicable local regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, system documentation, maintenance records, and configuration documentation.
- Coordinate with electrical, control, telecommunications, IT/OT, and other technical teams.
Pay: QAR6,000.00 – QAR6,500.00 per month
